Can you lift pergo without damage?

We have recently had pergo laminate fitted but if you stand on the join of 2 boards it forms a lip which you can catch your foot on (this occurs in 2 places). As the job isn't finished I will ask for this to be lifted, rectified and refit. Will this cause damage to the boards or, if done...

Is it easy to blank off a hot and cold water plastic pipe?

Is there anything I can get of the same idea but with a metal screw in as thats how the braided hose connects to the plastic pipe so I could just stop it there. Thanks

Is it easy to blank off a hot and cold water plastic pipe?

Hi, I'm removing a sink and toilet to fit laminate under, the toilet has a valve to the right which I can isolate on, the sink does not. Can these plastic pipes be blanked off for a few days? How do you do it? They are plastic with an extended metal cord section which connects to the tap...

Fixing a heavy radiator to plasterboard partition wall

Change of plan again, it is being fixed to 18mm ply behind the plasterboard, should be enough. Will use hollow anchors to secure it as well. Should be up to the job.

Fixing a heavy radiator to plasterboard partition wall

Result, the radiator I've chosen is only 42kg, light as a feather!! Next problem is I can't find the drain down for the radiators, I fear its under the kitchen flooring which is the only room downstairs I'm not taking up, sods law.

Fixing a heavy radiator to plasterboard partition wall

Thanks for all the suggestions, looks like I'm going to put it on an outside wall and fasten blocks of wood to the brick work, plaster over the top and screw through the cavity in mentioned wooden block. Should do the trick. In addition anyone heard of Reina radiators, they seem very good...

Fixing a heavy radiator to plasterboard partition wall

The heaviest I've seen was 70kg but most verticals that pump out around 7000btu are atleast 50kg. 50 or 70 I was thinking the course of action would be the same. 20 - 30kg I would imagine could just go up with heavy duty fixings? The wall has stud screws showing through the plaster every...

Fixing a heavy radiator to plasterboard partition wall

Fair comment, Ok but in order to screw the noggins to the joist I would have to either cut more than 1 hole or 1 very large hole? Thats a frightening proposition for a diy novice. If I were to use tradesmen, which trade, joiner to cut and put noggins in, then a plasterer to make good...

Fixing a heavy radiator to plasterboard partition wall

The house is only 3-4 years old so the last thing I want to be doing is ripping chunks of plasterboard out. Incase anyone has come across them, does anyone know of floor standing vertical radiators thus taking the load off the wall. Thanks

Fixing a heavy radiator to plasterboard partition wall

Ok so the general concensus is the piece of ply wood on the exterior, as long as I screw into a couple of noggins should do the trick? The extra board will ofcourse be painted the same colour and the rad on top so hopefully wouldn't even spot it. I would use something like the umbrella fixing...

Fixing a heavy radiator to plasterboard partition wall

Hi, Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I am looking at removing a steel radiator and replacing it with a vertical wall mounted one. My problem is most of these things weigh around 70kg. Do I have to pull the wall apart to brace it or can I attach a sheet of ply to the wall and fix the...
