Apparently I keep buying the wrong dimmer switches :( . My situation is this: I need a dimmer switch for my sons room, there is one switch on the wall and a pull cord from the ceiling. The wiring in the wall is yellow to L1, blue to L2 and a red wire going to a terminal on the opposite side...

OK, on my old switch I have a yellow wire in L1, a blue wire in L2 and a red wire on the opposite side to the other two. On my new dimmer switch I have 3 terminals that are marked Live, Slave and an arrow with a wavy line. Bit stumped on this, could anyone help please?

The old switch had a yellow wire in L1, blue wire in L2 and the red wire in the other terminal. Now, the dimmer switch I have only has the L1 and L2 terminals. I've spent half a day staring at it and trying to will another terminal but to no avail!!! What do I do with this red wire, please...
