Both my fridge and seperate freezer failed at same time?

Hi guys, thanks again for replying. I'm afraid I don't have the ability to upload photos at the moment. It looks like the model no. is MK Sentry LN 5470 but I can't find an image of it on Google. There is a blank white single socket about 15cms above the double socket if that means...

Both my fridge and seperate freezer failed at same time?

My goodness thanks for such fast replies riveralt and plugwash. I feel so dumb now though for not trying these things out first. I checked the double sockets with the kettle and the kettle didn't function so I just plugged the fridge and freezer into a 4 way extension lead and they're...

Both my fridge and seperate freezer failed at same time?

Hi there, I was making something to eat yesterday and while the fridge door was open the light went out so I presumed the light needed changed. However, this morning I noticed that the fridge actually turned off altogether and so has the freezer. They are both different makes and ages but...

My gas oven flame won't adjust but hob and grill are fine

Ok thanks I understand. Guess I'll have to get a new oven as I imagine an FSD and a certified gas man will be over £80 anyway. Thanks again guys

My gas oven flame won't adjust but hob and grill are fine

Hi guys, thanks again for replying. Just thought I'd update some info incase I can salvage this cooker. On the back at the bottom is a blue box with Apco Kigas Model No: 686-6895 written on it. Seems to have a few wires connected to it. I can't find any information about that on Google...

My gas oven flame won't adjust but hob and grill are fine

Hi gasbanni, thanks very much for replying. Is there a way to check that the flame supervision device is definitely the problem? Edit: I just did a bit of reading and I now realise I don't have a FSD. This is a device that cuts off the gas when the flame is blown out? I was told by a...

My gas oven flame won't adjust but hob and grill are fine

Hi, this only happened the other day. I have quite a basic Calor gas oven and now when I turn the oven on and ignite it using the spark button the flame stays the same no matter how long I leave it on or what gas mark I set it to. The flame is quite low about gas mark 3. Any ideas on what...

I want to make a very very lightweight lowered ceiling?

Hi freddy, thanks very much for replying again. I don't really want to use plasterboard as I've never lowered a ceiling before and I only have 10cm to play with as the top of the window is 10cm below the ceiling. Thanks for linking to the grid system, you don't happen to know where I would...

I want to make a very very lightweight lowered ceiling?

Hi, I've been looking at some thiings that might make it possible but I don't have the whole set of what I think it would take. I have three solid walls to use and one plasterboard so I was thinking maybe some of these along the sides: http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/188112 I don't know...

I would like to use felt and rubber waffle underlay. Can I?

Hi crazydave, thanks for your advice. I decided to take it and lucky I did because I didn't realise the felt I was buying is 15mm thick  So the carpet is barely gripped down but it looks ok considering it was my first time fitting one. The super thick felt is great for bare feet...

I want to make a very very lightweight lowered ceiling?

Hi freddy, thanks for replying. I don't need to totally soundproof, I just want to insulate enough so that I can't hear people talking at normal levels.

I want to make a very very lightweight lowered ceiling?

Hi there, I have a problem with noise from upstairs and while I don't want total soundproofing as it's too expensive I'd like to add a layer of 30mm heavy density insulation. I seen a thing on YouTube where the guy was using a light plastic grid and I think it was held up with wall joints and...

Laying thick felt underlay, can I use carpet tacks?

My floor is wooden, the wool felt underlay is 15mm thick and the carpet is normal with the hard mesh like material on the back. I would like to avoid glue if possible so can I just use carpet tacks? Thanks very much for your advice

Can I remove parts of tiles to extend worktop?

Hi tictic, thanks very much for replying and the advice. I was however hoping to do it without spending much money. I guess I wouldn't be able to do it with a cold chisel and masking tape? There is basic wooden underfloor on the floor.

I would like to use felt and rubber waffle underlay. Can I?

Hi, I would like to lay felt for warmth and noise but I have some rubber waffle that still has some life in it and I was hoping to put that over the top or underneath the felt for comfort and use staples or carpet tacks to hold both underlays firmly in place. Would this be ok to do? Or...

Can I remove parts of tiles to extend worktop?

Hi there, I'm in a new place and my washing machine won't fit under the worktop. The space under the worktop is 59cm and my machine is 60cm so I would like to extend the worktop by 2-3cm. However there are tiles on the wall where the side panel that holds up the worktop meets the wall so if...
