Hi sorry answer didn't make much sense! I changed the complete valve, so brass body and silver box. The old valve had seized so only opening for HW. I reconnected the wires as they were before. Drained the system, refilled again and bleed the rads several times. Could it be the new valve is faulty?

sounds fine the only thing you might have to watch is damp, is the a damp proof in the excisting wall? it might be a idea to put membrain between the battens and the wall also wouldnt use MDF, plaster board would be fine then use plain lining paper instead of plastering it.

At a guess i agree with the last post, i was asked to take a similar stucture down a few years ago and i had to remove well over half the concrete around the bottom before it moved! if it is built half as well as that one you well be fine.
