My issue is I don't know which is the with cable as both cables have one black and one red as well as the earth of course.

I've tried all combinations and no light at all. I don't h believe I can't sort this. What a pain.j

I only have two cables the detail you have sent shows three. Two red two black and two earth.

I have two cables, both have red and black with an earth cable. earth cables are ok but i need to attach my new light fitting but when i have it stays on and i can not turn it off. can anyone help.
