    I agree about the pebbledash, the only way to solve the problem there is to use a gas seal Rubber tape around the exterior aperture thus sealing the hole effectively.     Ok.there should be a flexible seal on the outside, and the inside can either be sealed by plaster, or another seal similar to that outsde.Outside normally black, inside white. I prefer to use seals both sides, as it makes any servicing issues easier to solve..like removing bees'nests, bird...

    a high pressure jetter should clear this, the ones i,ve used in the past have cleared all sorts, even if sometimes it has taken a while.

    looks like old putty. you can try chiselling it out , or applying heat around it to loosen it up. if in doubt just cut it out and use pipe sleeve joiners available from most plumbers merchants :)

    sorry see you are from soton, wont hold that against you lol limescale is most likely culprit. isolate cistern and separate filler head. will find trumpet shaped item inside. hole in middle clogged most likely cause. A local plumber will sort this out in about 20 minutes imho

    most likely the venturi in the filler valve is cloged, either with debris from the incoming main or limescale.. are you in ahard water area?
