planning permission for extension on an unbuilt structure ?

not a bad idea Tony, when speaking on the phone to the planner I pointed out several times that I could go bigger and uglier through pd but he didnt seem interested, only cared that if going full planning that I adhered to his 'rules' . . . I think I have come up with an acceptable design...

planning permission for extension on an unbuilt structure ?

What were the actual reasons for refusal ie what is written in the report? loss of visual amenity for the neighbours / too industrial looking in design and materials / too big compared to the house . . was the gist of it . . . the irony being I have the full support of neighbours and we...

planning permission for extension on an unbuilt structure ?

yes indeed! my conversations with the planner have already made me aware of that :) I'm naive I suppose in expecting that he should have a legitimate reason for refusal other than his whim, hence my trying to go the longer way around in an effort to bypass him a bit. whilst refusal...

planning permission for extension on an unbuilt structure ?

errr . . . not quite :) how about you apply for the 6 by 100, with full approval of all neighbours, which gets refused . . . . but, your curtilage is massive, so you can legally build 6 by 95 under pd in the 50 percent of your curtilage rule, you then apply for the extra 5 metres as it goes...

anybody used icf blocks / insulated concrete forms ?

I'm pretty hands on, so was looking at these with a view to cutting down on labour costs, thinking I could set these up ready for the concrete myself, rather than the cost of having a bricklayer and mate laying blocks. they come with the insulation on so again less labour to install insulation...

what happens after cutting a tree down?

Hello, a neighbour is looking to have some conifer trees removed, they are quite big and I was wondering, what happens to the roots left in the ground? Should I be concerned that they may shrink, and result in the ground near my foundations potentially becoming unstable? Closest tree is...

French doors that open fully back on themselves?

that looks pretty good, not as obtrusive as I expected, did you have to chamfer the other edge to get by the lock, to allow for the extra 'swing' ? thanks . . .

French doors that open fully back on themselves?
