Novagard SAB Wiring with Galaxy Panels

Hi socdesign, Sorry for the delay in getting back. Yes, I did as you suggested but ran into a couple of issues. Firstly I found that opening a bellbox tamper triggered the tamper at the panel but not always within the bellbox itself - i.e. the bellbox sounder sometimes remained silent, though...

3k single oven overheating 13amp plug

The oven, hob and whatever else really should be fed via dedicated supply (40amp supply generaly via an rcbo wired with 6mm cable, or even 10mm for longer distances) That you have a mains plug that is acting as a small heater is worrying and you should cease its use immediately, what is...

Novagard SAB Wiring with Galaxy Panels

Many thanks for the reply. Ok, I will try as you suggest then, I sort of figured that particular tamper connection was for the internal speaker (due to the proximity of the speaker terminals..) but had shunted it out with a 1k resistor all the while...so another thing learned...mind u, it still...

Novagard SAB Wiring with Galaxy Panels

Its been a while since my last request for help though work commitments have stalled my home projects of recent - however my alarm system is pretty much finished - though I added a live bellbox (the original being a dummy) Its a fairly vintage novagard 2 (twin sounder) All seems ok when...

    More Galaxy 18 advice sought...

Hi sparkymarka, I removed the pcb link and connected 12v to the 'set' terminal as the viper guide suggests but it doesn't stop the led flashing once it was set off, I removed power and tried with the 12v link removed, pcb link in place etc - all possible combos in fact bit it just doesn't...

    More Galaxy 18 advice sought...

Hi there, many thanks for the advice and help offered previously by the community. I have been away via work commitments since then and just getting back to where I left off with my alarm install. I have in the past couple of days finished all the connections, I did a complete rewire same...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

Yes, I agree and if the panel was being inhibited in any way I'd certainly attempt getting an eprom - thankfully all variable parameters are available however - though I now wonder if the digi-com settings will, like the logo, be default as-per the installers req's too...I guess I'll soon find...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

Hi guys, the feedback is very appreciated - I did change the logo already but have restored all a couple of times since, yes, it does edit ok and without causing any issues. I wouldn't imagine eprom hex files would be so readily available for such a device but the panel has no rs232 interface...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

I thought it was a wind up, but they did actually win tonight! Not a flying pig in sight either...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

Hi europlex, that's an interesting point. Metal you say? Well that's odd because a quick google showed me a pile of cheap plastic junk bearing the same name but obviously you like them, so much that you have even named yourself in their honour and I'm sure cowboys all up and down the land love...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

Oh well then, I suppose that's me told then! But europlex, I hate that it's ended like this - Especially as it looked as though we really were hitting it off but, hey ho...can't be friends with everyone I suppose but it's been a lesson in pedantic behaviours and I'm at least grateful for that...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

Ok. Show me the part where europlex answered my question. Where exactly in europlex's reply did he explain that it was down to a custom firmware? If he didn't already know that then fair enough but I'm sure he knew exactly what I meant but decided to be snide and pedantic instead - which isn't...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

Hi europlex. Firstly let me express some gratitude for those that read my question and gave me a coherent answer. As for yourself? Well, I would say you were the one being childish and I only replied as-per expected really. Do you think its ok to act like that with folk that are only seeking...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

Eighty2 & socdesign - Many thanks for the advice. Well I wont go any further with respect to that particular matter then and I'll just have to live with the ADT ghost - But it doesn't inhibit me programming anything whatsoever and I can edit the logo anyway so it wasn't a real issue I guess...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

Europlex. A question; What on earth was the point of your reply? Another question; Do you spend most weekends standing at train station platforms scribbling down locomotive numbers? Sorry to be judgmental here but you seem the sort of person that tells the train conductor someone has gone a stop...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

Yes, that would be correct, Europlex and don't be offended by my blanking out of the initials, I just figured I'd rather NOT advertise the company in question - You might know fine well what *** stands for and I assume most here do but web crawlers don't - But nonetheless, you are absolutely...

Old Galaxy 18 with *** Firmware

First time here and found via a trawl for information regarding a Honeywell Galaxy 18 alarm panel and it's apparent custom firmware (or whatever you want to call it..) I recently moved into a new flat which had a very much dead and useless alarm system installed - and indeed, it still does -...
