    Toilet not flushing paper

So today …. 6 litres straight out a bucket didn't change the outcome, I raised the toilet up (temporarily) to see if it made a difference and it didn’t. Different paper didn’t work. When the paper is wet it does go down correctly. It also worked after having a shyte ….. just doesn’t flush paper...

    Toilet not flushing paper

I’m going to try 6 litres in a bucket today. There’s no blockages and the waste is fine. I don’t use jointing compound on a toilet. The flush pattern in to the bowl is 4 nets from each corner whereas most is back and front. I think it’s just a defective toilet. Will find out with a bucket of...

    Toilet not flushing paper

I installed a new close coupled toilet with a 6 litre flush. The waster outlet terminates to the side with a rigid bent pan connector. The entire 6 litres does flush in to the pan yet when initially testing, it does not take away toilet paper. It’s just spins round in the bowl. There is not...

    Drainage for downstairs toilet install

It goes in to the main drain ….. that the other toilet SVP is connected to. I have said that a number of times.

    Drainage for downstairs toilet install

I didn’t install the clay pipe so…… Also it doesn’t run vertical, it’s horizontal going under the conservatory in to a drain. The elbow is facing upwards because that’s where it terminated to a gully trap ….. that one bend down from what I have done is no more restrictive to what an IC would be...

    Drainage for downstairs toilet install

When it talks about blockages it states 1 method in table 11 to be used. Rodding points are one method. Doesn’t say an IC is required plus I wouldn’t be able to get one where the existing clay is anyone. I will just go with what I have done

    Drainage for downstairs toilet install

The existing clay pipe had the kitchen sink and upstairs basin and bath connected to it …….. it runs to the main drain which is under the conservatory built years ago. I’m not sure how else I can explain it if you don’t get what I’ve said.

    Drainage for downstairs toilet install

There is another SVP for the upstairs toilet, which is around 15-16m from the nee toilet which I believe means additional ventilation is not required …. But the drainage is combined foul and rainwater which is where my point about rainwater comes in. I’m sure the regs mention combined drains do...

    Drainage for downstairs toilet install

Beyond the spigot goes under the conservatory in to the main drain. I am assuming this branch from the main drain was originally installed when the conservatory was built to serve the kitchen sink and upstairs bathroom that most likely ran in to a hopper at the back of the house. There was a...

    Drainage for downstairs toilet install

The old clay fitting is what I exposed which was taking the upstairs basin, bath, boiler condense and kitchen sink low level (I never put that rainwater serving the bathroom and will change) So I have gone on to an existing branch that runs in to the main drain which i assume is under the...

    Drainage for downstairs toilet install

Regs on a downstairs toilet install - New toilet located at the front of the house and the nearest drain connection is 14m away down the side of the house. The drain connection mentioned was originally a gulley serving the upstairs bath, basin and shower (1st floor side of house) and the...

    Pipe slice prices

Yeah I would attempt to start putting them (amongst some other tools) in merchants possibly at cost to get the brand known. It’s part of a bigger plan with bathroom furniture etc but getting a brand recognised is the main goal and I thought pipe slices would be good to start with but didn’t...

    Pipe slice prices

agree, which is why I looked initially looked in to it. It’s easier to say this slice and that slice is a tenner but most are rubbish quality and I end up spending out for an expensive brand. I also have never had a decent 28mm slice

    Shower valve leak

It will eventually come off. Even if you have to heat it up and damage the handle. Buying a new handle is cheaper than smashing off tiles. In its current state it’s already broke regardless

    Pipe slice prices

Probably about £1 - £1:50 I can get the for, rebranded and packaged. Then have other shipping costs on top. It wouldn’t just be slices. I would gradually try and build a brand. It all has to start somewhere

    Pipe slice prices

Thats why I’ve not said going on just to buy one. I asked what price would grab peoples attention if they saw them. For example. If i was in a plumbing shop and saw a slice for £8 I’d probably just get one
