Roof slate cladding or tiling external block wall

Thanks but like I said in my post. It’s everywhere and I’m starting to hate it. Plus the £55 ish per metre excluding fitting costs.

Roof slate cladding or tiling external block wall

Hi all. I’ll be doing a build soon and looking for alternatives within my skill set for cladding or covering a concrete block build. My local area has a viral spread of Marley fibre and timber cladding and I’m considering something different. I’m in Devon and plenty of older properties have tile...

    Possibly weird shed/workshop question.

Maybe I didn’t explain it well. I mean the underside of the wooden frame. As in if I was lying on my back under the shed I’m looking up at the stud frame of the floor and the Celotex. Should I board it or sheet it up or just leave it?

    Possibly weird shed/workshop question.

Hi all. So she’s base complete. It’s treated timber set on posts 50mm off the soil. From the top I’ll be putting in 25mm Celotex taping and then putting the flooring down. My question is should I put something on the underside (connected to) of the frame. Protecting the underside from wind and...

    5m rule for soak away?

Fresh thinking appreciated! It will all be falling on gravel so that could work with the necessary preparation and will reduce splashing etc.also have marley tiles which will separate drops to two piont per tile rather than slates which could "pour" at certain points.

Hi all. Well the subject of soakaways seems fairly well covered but no answer to my question. I have and extension over garage for which I need to sort soak aways for. Trouble is I will if I put it 5m from my property it will always be within 5m of a neighbours house? Not sure what to do other...

    Old machinist lamps for kitchen.

I guess that sums it up really. I haven't yet :) I'm fitting a new consumer unit and will have a dedicated rcd for the kitchen lights as I got carried away and got one so big I could have one for each light and socket in the house. Thanks for your input.

    Old machinist lamps for kitchen.

Thanks for that. I guess what I'm doing is trying to ensure that they are as safe as possible by replicating what I would do if I were going to type test the lamps. I thoroughly appreciate that it is unlikely that this will be achieved to the latest regulations but as these lights will not be...
