    changed pump - even though it looked fairly new and within 5 mins all radiators were piping hot ! Parker Central Heating Circulating (£49.95 on Amazon) !

    Quick update: The expansion tank is filling up fine and the ball valve is not sticking. Last night I turned off all radiator valves and opened just the 2 problem ones and they got nice and hot, I then opened a couple more and they got hot, then a couple more and I had 6 toasty warm...

    Thanks for the advise - very interesting. :wink: So basically I need to have a very slight overhang on each course to make it lean towards the earth and then back fill after 2-3 courses (to make sure I have access to backfill) ?
