    Bad practice on this board?

I'm having my board replaced with a new dual rcd one. My electrician opened my old one thats been in place for 25 years and I noted some units that have been doubled or sometimes tripled! See attached photo. Is this bad / risky practice? I know very little but would be good to understand what...

    Is this an RCD box?

I was told some years ago for me to get Solar panels I need to have an RCD board. I can see RCD text on the fuse box but wanted to be sure if its compatible with the latest regs. Image attached.

    Garage door catching on frame

Thanks Ken, I did check out a lot of YouTube videos but they all talk about changing the tension of the spring and not balancing a wonky door or changing the cable tension one on side.

    Garage door catching on frame

I have a Henderson Premier garage door which is catching on the bottom right frame when it closes as shown in the photo. I noticed the cable on that side is much tighter than on the other side. It only has one nut on the overhead spring that can be tightened on the left and I am aware it is...

What is this white stuff appearing both on house brick and block paving?

I've started seeing this white stuff appearing both on house brick and block paving. At first I thought its because of sealing the block paving but its also on my house brickwork which it wasn't before. Is it possible to remove it? What is the best way to clean bricks like this?

What is the best way to clean and paint this bit above a bay window?

Hi thanks for this info, so I realised I could use patination oil for the lead flashing, but what is the best grey/dark grey paint type to use on the bottom curvy bit just above the window itself? I am not sure what material it is. Maybe a multi surface paint will work?

What is the best way to clean and paint this bit above a bay window?

What is the best way to clean and paint this bit above a bay window? Whats the piece above the window called and is there a specific type of outdoor paint I should use?

Does this roof tile need urgently repairing?

I noticed a small fault in a tile on my roof today, however looking at original photos of the house we took when we bought it, its been there for some time. It appears like a very thin layer of the red tile has come off but the core concrete part of the tile is still intact, just the red layer...

Replaced a PIR sensor, getting a tamper light on Scantronic 9448 system

Thanks, after isolating all of them and turning one on by one, I isolated as two being an issue with the front tamper spring not connecting, who would have thought brand new sensors need the spring adjusting!! Thanks again

Replaced a PIR sensor, getting a tamper light on Scantronic 9448 system

Just to confirm I have had the battery replaced and the wiring looks spot on, any idea why a new sensor would do this? Only thing I can think is that the old sensors were NC. Whilst these Risco IWise ones dont have NC written but just "alarm" where the wires go.

Replaced a PIR sensor, getting a tamper light on Scantronic 9448 system

Ok so replaced the fuse, swapped the yellow and white, the wiring looks correct and all the sensors initialise. I get a difference tamper light now, before the tamper light was flashing with the zone I had replaced, but now its just a flat tamper light without any zone flashing which suggests a...

Replaced a PIR sensor, getting a tamper light on Scantronic 9448 system

Thanks this makes sense, however I am an idiot and forgot to remove the power as I just did it. I think as I removed the yellow it blew a fuse as the fuse wire has broke. Hoping I can just replace it and it works.

Replaced a PIR sensor, getting a tamper light on Scantronic 9448 system

I replaced a sensor using the configuration in the attached photo. It matches that of another sensor in the house. However I keep getting a tamper light. Does it need an engineers reset after a sensor change or does this indicate bad wiring? Also I noticed from online tutorials the normal...
