I am renovating a bathroom on the top floor of a period block of flats.
It was last done in the 1980s (my guess). I took up the vinyl, and removed the chipboard beneath. Under that was a lot of dust and what looked like loose dry rubble.
I swept all of it away, to reveal what looks like...
I am considering adding a set of extra low voltage lights, connected to a transformer with a switch, spurring off the lighting circuit.
Should I add a fused switch between the transformer and the switched live, or is this unnecessary?
Thanks
Thanks. It looks like it's all live and related to the flat. Mix of 2.5mm and 1.5mm, as well as a 6mm going to the oven.
If we get a rewire done:
1. Can electric wires go across the uninsulated rafters, or are they negatively impacted by the cold?
2. For power sockets in solid walls, does this...
I am going to insulate my loft, but the wiring up there is a complete mess!
I have lots of wires with no slack, cutting diagonally over the joists some through them. I also have wires clipped running along the joists.
I really want to put insulation down between the joists, but know you're not...
