Bosch Exxcel 1200 Express Washing machine - Drum not turning

I had the same problem. I'm not sure if this was the correct way to do it, but I just got a big screwdriver into the gap between each of motor mounting flanges and their mount points and the and levered the motor off.

Bosch Washing Machine - clothes still wet after spinning

Thanks to both replies, I'm sorted now. I think the problem was caused by a combination of both suggestions:- Eparts replacement brushes were a little bit tight and needed to be ground down to loosen them off. Also the angle of contact against the comutator was wrong - I could see that...

Bosch Washing Machine - clothes still wet after spinning

Thanks Leccy758. Now that you mention it, there was some resistance when I first pushed the brushes into the holder - but once all the way home they seemed to free up. The old brushes were down to around 10mm in length. I didn't think the comutator was damaged, but it did look a bit worn...

Bosch Washing Machine - clothes still wet after spinning

Model: Bosch Exxcel 1400 (WFO2864GB) The original problem was that the drum wasn't rotating. I replaced the brushes as described in another thread and things are looking much better. However, I'm finding that clothes as still wet after spinning. Machine seems to be filling and draining...

    Fitting a wood burning stove

I'd like to fit a wood burning stove into an existing fireplace. I've had the chimney swept & it's condition is good. However, it seems to be good practice to line the flue anyway - so that's what I'd like to do. I've researched the subject (including trying to make sense Building Regs Part...

    Built-in Vacuum Systems

I sincerely appreciate all the advice that I'm getting here. I'm looking for real life experiences of this Beam system to tell me whether or not I should believe the spiel. The trouble is - these systems don't seem to be very common - I guess mainly because they're expensive to install - but if...

    Built-in Vacuum Systems

The Beam website says "The Beam central vacuum has a lifetime guarantee against blockages if used under normal conditions: a sharp 90° bend fitted behind each wall inlet/point, acts as an anti-blocking device, rather like the u-bend under a sink. Additionally, the wand and hose are...

    Built-in Vacuum Systems

Do you mean these systems in general are prone to blocking or the Beam models in particular?

Electric Installation in a small downstairs toilet

Thks Main reason is asthma and a house that always seems to be full of dust. Normal hoovering just seems to push the dust around sometimes. I'm hoping a central vacuum system will be good for the lungs. (That's what the sales blurb says anyway). I'd be interested to hear any opinions on...

Electric Installation in a small downstairs toilet

I'm looking for some advice... I'd like to have a central vacuum system fitted in my house. I think the only suitable location for the vacuum unit is probably on the wall in a small downstairs toilet. The electrical socket for the supply to the unit could be mounted very high up by...

    Checking a pump?

Yes - it is currently set to 2, and tonight I tried it briefly on 3. It seemed a bit noisy when set to 3 (although, I'm not sure if this is normal) - so I have turned it back to '2'. I probably didn't leave it on 3 long enough to notice a difference in radiator temperature. I've also been...

    Checking a pump?

I have a problem where I can't get all of the radiators working all of the time. (one radiator in particular seems to give me most grief). If I close off all rads apart from the troublesome one - it seems to work ok. I've had a go at balancing the radiators, and have managed to get the...
