Im assuming u mustve had hot water over the weekend so it could be a gas pressure problem. I dont think it's fair to say anything wrong about the guy working over the weekend, maybe he wanted sum "overtime". In any case, why not just phone back the installer ?

I think there has been changes to this PCB now, though i have not had that confirmed as yet. Anyone ? I seen one that actually started smoking as i worked on the boiler which was a bit frightening lol !

Apart from sooted heat ex, if thats clear and flue is clear there may be a fault with the burner. I once saw one that had split at the side of 2 burner bars and was burning between the 2. Probs just needs a good service though !

Sometimes you just gotta knuckle down and get on with it, specially if ur boss tells you to. Although perhaps phoning another of his colleagues for advice mite be an idea ! Im guessing its a housing assoc./council property so it will probably end up in the bin if no one can fix it.

Id get that back boiler checked out, if for nothing else but a safety point of view (proper ventilation,etc). By any chance are you in the East part of the city ?
