    White, but not brilliant white

Are there any normal matt emulsion whites out there that aren't Brilliant white? The reason I ask is that I have recentl had to cut a whole in my ceiling to repair a leak behind it. The builders have patched it up okay, but then proceeded to paint the patch with brilliant white and it sticks...

    Buying new taps

Apologies for what might be a basic question but... is there anything I need to take into account when buying new taps? Are they all a universal fit into the pipe works? Some taps I am looking at have a ceramic disc technology...would this be better or worse then brass??

Ridge forming between two chipboard floor panels

sometimes the simplist ideas are the easiest. i tried this and am pretty happy with the result. it doesnt help the house builders have obviously left a bit of uneven floor, but at least I can't feel the ridge now!

Ridge forming between two chipboard floor panels

I have a ridge forming on the bathroom floor where two chipboard panels meet. The intitial thought was it was probably due to warping from a water spillage, but there are no signs of water damage on teh boards. Could be condensation I suppose, but it is only in a area about half a metre long...

Tiling adhesive / grout recommendations please

i assume the technique is to try and get the chisel behind the tile. I have a pro coming round during the week for a quote so it will be interesting to see what they quote. Is somewhere between £30 - £40 per m2 about right?

Having removed a couple of tiles around the basis today I soon came to the conclusion it is almost impossible to do without replacing the plasterboard. :( I have a feeling this job will be too big for me

It was just a general question I asked them whilst browsing i.e. "did they have the rapidset flex in white", I knew as soon as she said that she was wrong as I have had a detailed look on the Bal website over the last few days. I thought I read that elsewhere in the forum you should use the...

Mira shower tray - off set legs

I have some tiling planned for my en-suite. In preparation i took the side of my raised shower tray off. Underneath looks like a horror show to my untrained eye. Rather then have manufactuer fit legs the house builder appears to have the try sitting on some chipboard with 4 legs screwed into...
