We live in Nottingham. I am having a 20k extension built and for my architect and building regs i payed just short of £1000, not sure if it's simlar to your case but i find your quote very steep.

I covered 4 fireplaces up in my home when i bought it (none were in use) and i never put any ventilation in place and i have no problems and that was 10 years ago.

Ok i think this method makes sense to me (he says :shock: ). I will place the two port valve on the return and wire to cylinder stat and then to heating pump. The cold feed and the vent wont need to be re-routed in the building work so would it still work if i tee'd them together as you stated...
