    Unpleasant smell in 2 bathrooms

Okay conclusions - I believe the smell in the downstairs loo is now gone, but the main bathroom remains. It did seemingly go for a while but is now definitely back - why I have no idea, but at least (I think) I've solved one of the two problems. So today I have removed the temp white ducting...

    Unpleasant smell in 2 bathrooms

Okay, so finally got round to bodging some ducting from the stacks into the roof vents. Obviously this can't be permanent as the condensation will gather where the ducting sags, but hopefully will give me an indication over the next week or so whether this is the right move. If it is i'll have...

    Shower leaking in corner

Hi all So I noticed a leak in my en suite, and upon removing the sink unit that was up against the wall/shower glass (poor design), it uncovered a lot of wet and a mass of absolute bodge by whoever fitted it. The tiles don't meet the floor and there's gaps everywhere, i've cleaned it up but it...

    Unpleasant smell in 2 bathrooms

Are there any regulations about how it's piped to the roof tile? I understand there shouldn't be any bends in the "wet" section for obvious reasons but above this when it is purely for venting, can i just pipe it over any which way possible? Or have to be solid pipe? have to be vertical, no 90...

    Unpleasant smell in 2 bathrooms

So I have from memory 5 (i think) black plastic flexi pipes that come down from vent tiles on the roof and hang in the loft. One of them has my en suite extractor fan attached to, the others are just hanging there for what I assumed to be general ventilation for the loft. Could I remove the AAVs...

    Unpleasant smell in 2 bathrooms

I can only locate 2 stacks and they both terminate in the loft with AAVs on top - there is not an externally vented one and as far as I can tell no other houses on my estate do so just all have the same layout.

    Unpleasant smell in 2 bathrooms

Hi, no I haven't, I assume this will be a manhole cover somewhere around the perimeter of my house? Do i run water/flush from every tap/toilet and ensure I see it flush through okay? In terms of venting I just know that there are 2 soil stacks that terminate in the loft, and I have recently...

    Unpleasant smell in 2 bathrooms

Hi I have this issue in my house where the main bathroom upstairs, and the downstairs toilet, both have a strange unpleasant smell, I'm assuming sewer-y. The en-suite is fine, although the previous owners did some dodgy renovation and behind the vanity unit is a massive hole in the wall into the...

Hole in concrete floor below kitchen sink unit?

Ok thanks - expanding foam okay? And by joint i assume you mean up to the blue nut that's in line with the floor? Do you also think this is the cause of the excess condensation on the surrounding pipes?

Hole in concrete floor below kitchen sink unit?

Hi all I've been trying to find the source of a cold draft in my kitchen after taking off the plinth below my sink I have found a hole in the concrete floor (where the cold air is coming from), and it has a pipe going into it. I have a few questions... 1. Does anyone know what this pipe is? I...
