Ignorant was the first word that popped into my head when I first realized what was going on. Also a few more words which I'll leave to your imagination...

If he were to fence that off, I'd have no daylight in my kitchen at all, because it's 4ft lower as it is

His ground level is about 4ft above mine if you mean where his back door is compared to my back door. At the highest part of the slope in his garden, where he's put the decking, that would be about 6 ft above my ground level . So if he puts a table and chairs on the decking come summer , he'll...

Indeed. This is what it looked like when they moved in last summer. To give you an idea of the perspective. The decking is now up to the height of the fence and the wall at the end of the garden. They changed the fence to a wooden gate, seen in my photos.

It's much higher than 300mm - and that's at the bottom part. Even higher at the part where the decking has been built. There are steps up to that bit , so they can look into my kitchen window and patio. No privacy for me!

It's way higher than 300mm. The photos show the table outside the back door. Then next to the table, is the raised decking at a similar height to top of the table by the back door . That's only the lower part!

Alastairreid, you hit the nail on the head there . He has lived there now for 8 months and I always had a bad feeling that something like this would happen. I feel worried as to what may happen next. The sheer audacity of what he has done - As if he doesn't really give a toss about neighbours...

Thank you. I was just about to edit my post. It's actually about 6 feet high at the top part. It appears to be over 50% of the garden too

at a guess, about 3 feet at least - it's level with the top of the table on the patio - or even higher

Hello DIY'ers and fellow victims of DIY'ers. My neighbours have built this decking area in the last two weeks . It appears to be higher than allowed. I am in the flat to the left of the photo. I've reported it to the council...still waiting to hear back. Can anyone please tell me if this...
