The pump was changed about eighteen months ago, which may have coincided with the pumping over starting - thats why I'm wondering if its possible to fit a pump the wrong way round .Thanks

    pumping over . any clues

I have an old Potterton Flamingo with 2 motorised valves, which is pumping over. Probably caused by a blockage somewhere. Im a bit confused as to why the overflow from the expansion tank drips more outside, when the hot water is off. Heating hasnt been on for six weeks. Hot water was turned off...

    system pumping over

not sure if it is a cyltrol valve. Have started to unscrew black head, and it slowly reveals pressure readings as it goes up the stem 0.5 bar, 0.4 bar, etc Can I screw the head completely off - dont want to cause a leak

    cyltrol valve

actually I wonder if it is a cyltrol valve. I have started to unscrew the black head and this reveals pressure readings - 0.5 bar, 0.4 bar, etc. Could it be some sort of pressure relief valve. The valve appears to be stuck - would it be ok to completely unscrew the black head, I dont want to...

    cyltrol valve

I suspect that the system was upgraded when previous owner put new boiler in. The cyltrol valve pipes (see photo) gets hot underneath and cool on top. Im getting pumping over into the ex tank, do you think the blocked cyltrol valve might be causing that. Thanks

    system pumping over

ive got a cyltrol valve (see photo), a cylinder stat and 2 m valves. I think the head of the cyltrol valve is broken and ceased - it is hot under the valve and cool above. If I took the valve out or replaced it, do you think it would solve (or help) my pumping over issue.

    system pumping over

thanks for that. Do you think the ex tank is too low, its about 7' above the cylinder/pump/ mot valves. I will try a quick flush through to see if it helps.

    system pumping over

seems to have been doing it over the last 12 months. pump speed already on lowest is this sentinel x 400 ok on old systems ( system about 25 years old - Potteron Flamingo) - dont want to cause any leaks. I can do basic plumbing. Many thanks for your help

    system pumping over

My system is pumping over - seems to be when the heating and /or hot water are on. How can I solve this please? Would flushing the system through help? I can probably raise the ex tank by a foot - would that help. The pump is on lowest speed.
