Sorry to sound ignorant the switched live is the yellow one right? and then i connect that to the same connection as the black wire with the red sleeve??

If I disconnect the red wire from the fan will this make them turn off together?

Right firstly thanks 4 your help.. i've wired it up as u said and the light and fan both come on..... Only problem now is the fan stays on when you switch the light out. And i've just found out b4 the fan and light were controlled by the same switch (i.e. there was no delay with the fan...

do the red and yellow wires from the the 3 core & earth share a connection in the loop?...as i've already got 3 reds going to there

i'm trying to fit a new light in the bathroom......there are 3 cables coming out of the ceiling...The first two are straight forward 1 has red,black and yellow/green wires, 2 has black(with a red sleeve) red and yellow/green But the third ones got me stumped it has 4 wires coming out...
