Eco Hometec / MAN 31/36 Micromat Combi - No Hot Water

Update, when I reset the boiler everything operates as normal (at least for a day or so), anyone any ideas? If I manually operate the diverter valve it does send hot water to the tap as you'd expect but what should trigger the valve?

Eco Hometec / MAN 31/36 Micromat Combi - No Hot Water

Hi folks, could someone offer advice on where to start with no hot water from the above boiler? CH works fine but when I run the hot water tap it fails to initiate any demand. If the CH is on when I do this it diverts to the hot water top but if the CH isn't on then I get no hot water..... Any...

Hi folks, wondering if anyone might be able to help me with the connections on the above boiler (I understand that the company went bust!) Basically I'm wanting to switch the boiler on and off via the low voltage connections (24v) can anyone help me identify the terminals? I think that the ones...

Eco Hometec Combi Boiler Hot Water (scalding) problem

Hi Dan, thanks for your quick reply. That may well be the way forward in the longer term but for now I've got no option but to work with it. Does the fault point to anything in particular? Thermistors and such like? Cheers Ben

Eco Hometec Combi Boiler Hot Water (scalding) problem

Hi, hoping for a bit of direction on this one folks! I have an Eco Hometec (MAN) condensing combi boiler at home. However I've noticed that when I run the hot water and then turn off the tap the boiler continues to fire for approx. 20-25 seconds and appears to dump the unwanted hot water into...

Vaillant Ecotec 28 - Low hot water flow at taps

Hi folks, update: isolated the mains water, drained via the hot water tap, removed inlet valve and sure enough a massive load of debris was blocking it. Looked to be a combination of grit and corroded steel. Emptied it out, flushed it through, blew it through both ways to ensure it was clear and...

Vaillant Ecotec 28 - Low hot water flow at taps

Many thanks Tony, I can check the inlet for sure and I'll do this tomorrow. I'm not in a hard water area (Yorkshire's finest!) but is it possible that the heating side of the plate heat exchanger could be perfectly fine whilst the hot water side is blocked up? It's just that the heating works...

Hi Tony, thanks for your reply, appreciated. Good point on the title, I'll amend that! Cold water pressure is fine, I'll check the flow rate in litres per minute and report back.... Cheers Ben

Vaillant Ecotec 28 - Low hot water flow at taps

Hi folks, I'm after a bit of advice on the above boiler. Essentially the central heating all works spot on but the hot water flow rate is really poor from all three hot water taps. What could be the problem? I'm competent enough and have replaced pcbs pumps and diverter valves on an alpha...

Triton Bezique 2 - low flow rate problem

FIXED IT! One of the 2 heating elements had failed (there are 2 in the can on this one) one had an OHMS reading of 12.6 but the other had nothing showing. Replaced the can and bingo, plenty of power both in terms of heat and pressure.

Triton Bezique 2 - low flow rate problem

Thanks very much for the reply, forgot to mention that I'd already checked the inlet filter and it was all ok, I'm not in a hard water area so there was hardly anything in there at all....at least that's one ruled though! Any other ideas to check for? All help really appreciated....

Triton Bezique 2 - low flow rate problem

Hi folks, hope you can help. My Triton Bezique 2 shower has a low flow rate problem. The water heats fine, the water pressure to the sink off the same feed is fine, the shower head and hose are fine too. It's just that there is a poor flow of water from the shower even when I select cold...

Alpha CB24/28 Boiler - Fan issue?

Hi, if you look at the fault finding section of the manual for the CB24 and CB28 two flashing LED's at the same time will take you down the path of a faulty air pressure switch. In short, these do not regularly fail. What Alpha fail to explain is that the PCB is the likely cause and these are...

    Alpha CB24 Flashing Lights A and B

Hi, I have an Alpha CB24 and the neons are flashing when there is demand for hot water. They flash alternately which according to the manual means that there is low pressure, however the pressure guage is sitting pretty at just over 1 bar. I've heard that the pressure switch may be at...

Downstairs Rads luke warm, upstairs fine, single pipe, CB24

The pump was slightly noisy but to be honest I think I'd gotten used to it. Replaced the pump with a used one from eBay for £25 and it's amazing. I've never known the rads get so hot so maybe it's been on its way out for years. It really is amazing the difference it's made, tremendous. Cheers Ben

Downstairs Rads luke warm, upstairs fine, single pipe, CB24

Hi thanks for your post, I've just taken off one of the rads and jetted it through but to be honest there was little in terms of sludge at all so I have to take from that the the other rads are the same (same age, same floor) Conversion to twin pipe isn't really an option for me at the mo...

Downstairs Rads luke warm, upstairs fine, single pipe, CB24

Hi, I need a spot of direction folks. I have an Alpha CB24 combi on a single pipe system in a three bed semi with loft conversion. The upstairs rads get lovely and hot but the downstairs rads are barely warm at all. Is this likely to be sludge in all the rads downstairs or a pump issue? I'm...
