just to let you know, have now sorted problem.. :D found a hidden valve under a joist in the loft and let out air! Thanks for all your help.. methinks I may return at a later date!! :wink:

thanks for your replies - not too sure about the valves.... the system is a sunvic SP50, our airing cupboard only has a radiator in, the water tanks are in the loft, not sure what kind of back boiler it is. Feeling really dim at this point :cry: not getting many brownie points with the other half!

hi everybody I am new to this site and looking for help :oops: . Drained heating system as I wanted to move a radiator. De-gunged system, moved radiator and now have clear water running through... Everything turned back on, but back boiler only fires for a few minutes and then turns itself off...
