hi everybody I am new to this site and looking for help  . Drained heating system as I wanted to move a radiator. De-gunged system, moved radiator and now have clear water running through... Everything turned back on, but back boiler only fires for a few minutes and then turns itself off and will not start up again. Pilot light is lit. Central heating too only comes on for a few minutes and then off again.
Be grateful for any help or suggestions before I lose all my hair!!

Have you checked the pump is vented and working? See FAQ

Also system may not be fully filled.

Check for air locks. Have you a 3 port or 2 x 2 port valves in the airing cupboard? If so did you set the lever on these to manual open? Try turning off hw and closing all but one rad valve. Turn boiler stat off and just let pump try and push air lock through ;)

thanks for your replies - not too sure about the valves.... the system is a sunvic SP50, our airing cupboard only has a radiator in, the water tanks are in the loft, not sure what kind of back boiler it is. Feeling really dim at this point  not getting many brownie points with the other half!
