When detaching the car battery to reset the ECU on my mark 6 Fiesta.........Am i better doing this when engine is cold or when engine is hot???? So my question is .......Is it best to reset from cold or after it is warmed up? :?

iTS A 1300 DURATEC with Catback powerflow and 57i KN INDUCTION. It is quick between 27mph to 50mph............just want better o-30 acceleration.

I have thought of that John already! The thing is that i get 45 to 50mpg even with these Mods as the engine breathes better , so not a case of higher fuel costs...... The car is fine, just need a way of getting it to be more responsive in the 0 to 30mph range. :)

The rate works out £45 per hour and they said the job could take between 3-5 hours as the subframe has to be dropped too to get access. The part is £100............and when you add the V.A.T...The bill at most could be around £360 to 450.... How Ford can charge £300 labour and charge over...

Ford want £1100 to supply and fit.........so i told them, i bet they did! Have managed to get a recon part for 100 pounds and a local garage said it would charge 300 quid to do...........lets say £450 all in! Ford should rethink their prices! :lol:

i put out a article about what we thought was a noisy alternator or power steering pump........Today, when we went to jack the car up we found it to be the power steering rack and pinion that were losing fluid.........Too far a big job for me to do. looks like will have to take to ford to do...

I am going to presume that u have already checked the plugs, leads, filter e.t.c so am going to advise u on this which is worth a shot. Drive the car for 15 min until it is warmed up to proper temp. Turn off the car and disconnect your battery leads. make sure u have code for radio.... Leave...
