When detaching the car battery to reset the ECU on my mark 6 Fiesta.........Am i better doing this when engine is cold or when engine is hot???? So my question is .......Is it best to reset from cold or after it is warmed up? :?

I have heard that if you disconnect the battery and leave disconnected for 15min then reconnect and start car and leave ticking over for 10min, then take for a 5 mile run that this is suppose to reset the engine computor to the proper settings again and the car should run better.....Can anyone...
