If so, are they noisy (ie the internal pump) - what kind of noise ? I have finally installed mine and I can only imagine it's faulty as it is SO loud and even whines a little !

Mira Elite ST Shower - Rear Feed ?

Thanks, has anyone got any tips for fitting an elbow into such a tight spot - especially when it has to allow for subsequent tiling !!

Mira Elite ST Shower - Rear Feed ?

Does anyone know why Mira state that a 'rear' entry cold feed requires a soldered elbow to the 'swivel' connector in the shower housing ? (effectively making it 'top' or 'bottom' fed) It would make my life so much easier to just be able to connect it straight to my (tank fed) cold feed coming...

Concreting over a waste pipe, future access ?

Thanks for the quick reply - sorry I didn't say that I had already laid the 5 inch slab down beside - so the shuttering has been done and the pipe sits in a gulley with brick wall on one side and the slab on the other.

Concreting over a waste pipe, future access ?

I have a shower waste pipe that I don't want to 'hard' cement into the floor - what do you normally do here ? Do you cover it in sand, and lay a thin concrete bed on top - if so, what kind of thickness ? The plastic pipe lays in a gully beside a wall and is six inches deep and comes away from...

Earth Cabling by Meter + CU: Regs + Size ?

JohnD - Many thanks for your suggestions and help. You have answered my concerns with clear and helpful advice. I have now requested that the power company fit a 100A DP Isolator switch instead of a disconnect and reconnect. I will follow your guidance on the earth bonding cable sizes, and...

Earth Cabling by Meter + CU: Regs + Size ?

The supply is TN-S. Gas, water and elec pipes all come in at the same point with elec meter only just a couple of feet away. The equipotential bonding, and earth cables to the existing and the 'to be replaced' box are all around 4mm in size (ie way below the 10mm). The meter tails are 25mm...

Earth Cabling by Meter + CU: Regs + Size ?

I am putting up a modern consumer unit (to replace one of four 'fuse boxes') and have the elec board coming to disconnect while I move tails across. Also connected to the meter are other existing 'fuse boxes' which supply quite separate circuits in the house. The earth cable is around 4mm in...

Am trying to level a recess which has a dip on one corner/side. I put down a 3mm bed but it is still out by 3mm (much better elsewehere now though !). So, can I put levelling compound on top of itself ? (this is Wickes basic product - not the latex) Thanks
