It is quite soft, so should I be able to pull that out of the pipe and replace with a modern version to suit the more common horizontal toilet outlet?

Just had a further check of it, its flexible so not clay or porcelain. The material looks more like nylon than PVC but feels more flexible than nylon.

Got an old toilet to replace where the porcerlain goes downwards straight into some kind of socket (pic attached), what am I likely to find underneath it? Is there likely to be something a modern fitting will push into?

I'm leaning more towards a tacosetter inline with the ABV, would that give more accurate flow control? Is the Honeywell ABV much better than the Tower I have? If so I'll replace that as well. Having watched the boiler I think I could also shave 5 degrees off the flow as its hitting 70 degrees...

I was looking at those earlier and thinking about that in series with the ABV. Would that work with PP mode on the pump?

The ABV seems to have started working again, I ran the pump on c3 for a while and did a couple of air purge cycles which seemed to help, maybe had air in the system. The valve now has to be set quite low to open which also doesn't seem quite right though. Yes all rads with TRV heads off...

I don't think so, just the setting head then it reverts to power and m3/h Just the top one which looked ancient, the bottom one was much newer and cleaner. I've only just fitted this tower one, are they no good?

It's fitted!! Added another bottle of Fernox F3 for good measure. Seeing some better flow but the ABV seems to be open. Old pump had a lot of deposit around the inlet, checked the impeller with a camera and it wasn't clogged up. Pipe and elbow above the pump also had a fair amount of crud so...

It was the Wilo site that listed the Grundfos has having a 1 inch G1, I think its wrong

The Grundfos manual says G on this digram is 1 1/2 so I'm confused now, maybe thay are both 1 1/2?

Around £110-120 inc VAT retail price. I thought the 25/1-6 had a 1.5 inch thread and my Alpha 2 a 1 inch thread?
