Can I buy and fit an LPG tank myself?

No, not had a quote, alhtough I now know from above that we cannot buy and install a tank ourselves, it has to be a supplier. It is quite a big factor in whether to decide to put in an offer on an house that already has lpg supplied by cylinders rather than a tank (either above or below...

Can I buy and fit an LPG tank myself?

Was just trying to find a way to keep the cost down if we were to decide to buy the place - rather than have supplier quote to dig and put in tank and connect, we have the equipment to dig the hole, thus removing quite some time from their quote - that was all. Not to worry, thanks for your...

Can I buy and fit an LPG tank myself?

Oh, that's not what I was hoping to hear! Not that specialised to dig a hole and put a tank in, and would save a lot of money!

Can I buy and fit an LPG tank myself?

I am considering buying a house that has 4 Calor tanks that supply the heating/water. Can you tell me whether it is possible to purchase a tank to be fitted either above or below ground, have someone run the pipework to the existing connection, and then get it checked out before turning it on...

Does anyone have any other suggestions before I go out and spend £40? After all, it's too late to go to Wickes now

Watermill Wasp 46 Shower Pump not working

Sorry Andy, it's one of these fancy hidden ones, no shower hose. Pipe comes from attic down to concealed thermostatic shower, then up the inside of the wall to the head. :o Where would I get a wet vac?

Watermill Wasp 46 Shower Pump not working

Since posting my original, I have tried many things, many times. My Dad took the pump to check that there was power to it, and by turning it upside down got it to pump without any water. As the pump works, it must be another issue. Refitted pump, left it switched off, but shower on, and the...

Watermill Wasp 46 Shower Pump not working

I recently took apart the on/off valve on my Bath Store shower, as it had been dripping! Their helpline suggested soaking the ceramic valve in 50%water/vinegar mixture. Put it all back together and seemed to be working fine. The last time I used the shower, it began pulsing, as though there...

How do I cover up 1920's possibly lime based paint?

I have been challenged to decorate my sister's attic, which was originally decorated back in 1927/8 by my Grandad. It has mustard coloured plywood panels that comes off when you rub your hand over it. A "stain sealer" applied two days ago has bubbled and is coming off. Emulsion also applied...

emulsion bubbling and flaking off wall in places

i removed some really old wallpaper using a steamer, and then sugar soaped the walls to get off the remaining glue residue. I then used size whcih I hoped would seal the wall before covering with emulsion. Anyway, two coats of emulsion are now bubbling in places and flaking off. I assume that...

wet concrete floor and evidence of damp

Hi, sorry, not brilliant at descriptions. Our en-suite is above the downstairs loo, and the waste pipe from obove runs down the wall and into the floor I assume as there is no boxing for it at floor level. I can therefore only visualise it under the floor, the downstairs loo then running into...

wet concrete floor and evidence of damp

Hi I have noticed damp on the wall in my downstairs loo, and after removing the kids toys and toilet cleaners have now surveyed the situation! The toilet is long narrow area with one external and one internal wall. The external wall has damp on the skirting and a triangular wet area on the...

    Toilet overflowing - help!!

thanks for the video, not quite what I needed! Thanks for the link, unfortunately, the insides of my cistern look nothing like these! Guess it's trial and error for a while longer - it is the odd shaped "ball cock" contraption that is not lifting with the water to shut off the inlet valve...

    Toilet overflowing - help!!

I am not going to let a toilet beat me! It cannot be beyond the wit of woman to work it out. It is the principal involved, and besides, I cant afford to pay a plumber to do something that would only take a matter of minutes! Wish me luck :D

    Toilet overflowing - help!!

My toilet, made by RSG Sanitary Ware will not stop overfilling, which means it is running all the time. I have tried moving various bits up, down and around, without success, each time I think I've solved it, the following day it begins filling too full again. I have to turn the water off at...

Watermill Wasp 46 - fails to pump

Is there an easy way to do that? Do I need to ring my Dad to come to help? :)

Watermill Wasp 46 - fails to pump

I have had a minor success. If I turn the temperature down on the mixer to 25d the pump works, chucking out cold water though at a great force. As I turn it up to 38d the pressure drops and the pump starts straining, and I darent leave it running. If I turn the stat to 38 before I turn on...

Yes, the water was reaching the pump ok, on both feeds.

Watermill Wasp 46 - fails to pump

I agree with that, but why did it work perfectly for a month and only recently stop? Is the only remedy to resite the pump into the airing cupboard, though God know's where there's hardly room for a mouse! I think that's where the guy was going to put it, but then he decided on the loft...

Watermill Wasp 46 - fails to pump

hot water is connected from the outlet pipe at the top of the water cylinder, there is a t joint, the supply goes down, elbow joint to right, elbow joint up and into the loft where it connects to the pump through a stop cock to the pump. I cant see any bleed valves in the system.
