    Crown roof height transition

Hello, I’m trying to design a crown roof for our rear extension with two of the sides at 270cm (to reduce light impact for the neighbour) and 300cm at the other two side (to allow us to have higher kitchen units). This creates the problem of what to do at the transition between the heights. I’m...

Two Storey Side Extension, To Step Back or To Not Step Back?

Hi All, looking for some guidance please. I've recently received feedback (which we already knew was likely) for a pre-application submission for a two-storey side extension suggesting the new front elevation needs to be stepped back from the existing/original property, it's a standard...

Help with rear and side extension plans

I'm hoping someone can help as I have a first draft for plans for a single rear and double side extension. The rear extension is straightforward enough but I'm struggling with ideas for the double side extension plans due to the plot shape and space between the house and angled detached garage...

Design - Planning application - Architecture fee - help to calculate correct value

Hi Everyone, This question may seem stupid or tricky but could not find an answer anywhere and maybe some colleague architect could point me on the right direction. I have always been working for large practice but due of this covid mess and lack of work I`m trying to set up something on my...

Clearance for electrical and plumbing? Is this idea workable?

Some more stupid questions. I'm thinking about different ideas for a bathroom remodel and I want to swap the taps to the other end of the bath and mount them and the shower on the wall. My idea is to box in the area from the top of the bath to the ceiling to put the plumbing in, because the...

I want/have to update our bathroom (since moving in we've discovered the floor is wrecked due to water and bodged installations). Due to budget I want to do most of it myself. Most of it I'm fairly clear about after doing some research but I'm a bit stumped about how to put the sink and...

    Bathroom Waste Design

Planning a new bathroom, can anyone see any issues with this waste water design? I plan on using 50mm solvent weld pipe and can achieve the correct fall from each appliance to the soil pipe. I already purchased the basin that came with a waste trap, I am not sure if it is anti-vac or not so...

Kitchen Design, could do with an opinion on my layout.

Hi All This is my first post on the forums, I apologise if this is not the right section but I couldn't find anything else that's more fitting. Plugging plug in backwards in a trailing socket.

Anyone care to repeat this, guess my trailing socket and/or plug must be defective. Not that much force was applied. Socket has got PMS 9128 written on it, plug has PMS 9248 written on it if any help for identifying the brands.
