Blimey! That's almost as much as Theresa spent of taxpayers' money to buy the votes of each of the DUP MPs!

Let's hope the next government is one committed to clamping down on tax-dodging billionaires and multinationals.

Under a Corbyn rent control, they should be able to get a tenant at £50 a week.

New York has rent control and many other cities in the US. Are you saying the US is a socialist communist country?

I didn't know this and googled rent control US and this is what came up in the top 3 search finds..

It doesn't look like it's working out too well kankerot..

''Rent-control does, however, lead to abandonment. In San Francisco, a combination of rent control and strict eviction laws force many landlords to accommodate long-time tenants who pay well below market rate, leaving little revenue available to cover expenses. This has caused landlords to abandon an estimated 31,000 units—or one-twelfth of the city’s stock. Mayor Lindsay’s late-1960s rent-stabilization measure, which came right before an era of high taxes and inflation, caused New York City landlords to abandon 300,000 units from 1974-1984.''

Why do the left wing contingent on here persist in misrepresenting what has been said.

Where did I imply that the US is a socialist communist country?

There are many critics to rent control, some have said, its the quickest way to ruin a city.

It has been shown that rent control impacts negatively on those its meant to help.

Judging by his silence he appears to be bang to rights and this was unintentional on my part.

You equated rent control with corbyn and left policies when I pointed out its not the preserve of the left as they have rent control in the USA. Simple.

If you want to argue the economics of rent control then lets go ahead. Silence?

The issue of rent controls - depends on a multitude of issues - its not a solution for everyone and everywhere and for all time.

No I did not

I equated rent control with Corbyn -not unreasonable since he talked about it

Where did I equate it to left wing policies on this thread?

I'm sure we can agree that with only a few dozen exceptions every day, notch hardly ever suggests that Corbyn is a left winger, nor that he thinks current labour policies are further left wing than Margaret Thatcher.

Did they make substantial profits in the UK?

If they did, it's time we had a fairer tax system, that is less generous to tax-dodging billionaires and wealthy multinationals.

There is a move within Europe towards this, and it's possible the next UK government will reform the current scandalous system that allows people to loot profits from their UK business and pay little or no UK tax.

I'm sure we can all agree that would be far fairer than leaving us little people to pick up the slack and pay our taxes while the rich scuttle away and hide their money in Panama or the Virgin Islands.

So you admit it was wrong :):):)

Apparently Notch is the person in the whole world to believe Jeremy Corbyn is left wing :):):)
