Hi guys i just wondered if 1/4 turn taps are suitable to fit in hard water areas, i live in the Croydon area. Screwfix are doing an offer on bathtaps and basin taps for #67.00 instead of 130.00 and as i have to renew my bathroom i wanted to buy them. The make is SWIRL, how easy would it be to find replacement discs should they scale up quite quickly?....and would i really have to buy new discs or could i just submerge them in vineger for 12 hours? Thanks for your time.

They are suitable. They don't generally scale up, or take many years to do so.
Note that a majority of the UK has hard water, so if these taps were not suitable for hard water, hardly anyone would buy them.

If they break, replacement cartridges are available from any plumbing merchant. Whether it would be worthwhile replacing them on a £67 tap is another matter.
