1.8m gap, bridged with off the shelf lintel?

Hi Guys,

is it a job for an SE to do calculations, or is it ok to bridge a gap of 1.8m with an off the shelf catnic cavity wall lintel, provided it has 150mm either side?

It will be another story of blockwork on inner and outer leaf.

I’m no expert but that sounds just like where catnic lintels are used.

I will probably over engineer it with the extra HD version for the difference in price

1.8m is an acceptable opening size in terms of zero input from an SE.

Are there any point loads?
