Purchased a sander and just noticed the "usa" label on the front.
It's 120v - 60 hertz.
Does anyone know if it will work OK on Uk electrics? (ie- 110v site transformer)
Many Thanks.
The main problem with USA 110 volt equipment is the switching and fusing where fused as with their system like our 230vac system you only have one line wire and often they like us use a single pole switch.
Our 110 is split phase and has two line supplies and no neutral and although most items run OK with the odd few the item can remain live even when switched off.
New equipment is unlikely to have a problem but some old stuff may. I have a drill which has single pole switch which was brought in USA around 1965.
As already stated some things may run slow but in general unlikely to be a problem.
