Pictures do the best explaining. I plan to remove the french doors so the extension is open from the living room. I've exposed the lintel edges and the bearing is only 115mm where as I read it should be 150mm. Is this something that needs rectifying before we plaster or will it suffice? Not noticed any problems in the four years its been in however the extension ridge beam is above it now adding the extension roof weight. This was completed 6 months ago with no problems.
Lintel was a L type lintel if I recall when the builder fitted it and the thickness can be seen in one of the pictures. The opening is 2060mm.
Also is a picture of the inside am I to presume this has some sort of concrete lintel from when the house was built?
