Don't put solid wood flooring in kitchens, there's always a higher humidity and therefore a higher risk of expanding.
Switch to wood-engineered flooring.

£15.00 per sq m? Never quality, or are you looking at fake solid flooring - i.e melamine laminate?

go on then would you...give me an example or reccomendation of such flooring and approx how much its likely to cost for decent quality

Quality starts around £ 29.00 ex VAT (10mm floor with 3mm solid top layer for very flat and even underfloor) up to £ 110.00 ex VAT (thick load bearing Wenge floor, 20mm with 6mm top layer)

Can direct you to our website, but that would be advertising ;)
