Hi,
I've included photos of what I think is a roof purlin. I've a 1930s semi detached. The beam photographed runs from the neighbours dividing wall right across the front of the house under the rafters. It is propped at the end from which I'm photographing and ties into the diagonal beam which supports the corner of the roof. From the prop to the edge of the beam is no more than 1500mm, but there seem to be cracks in this area. None joined (..yet). Just looking for an informed opinion as to whether this is an immediate cause for concern please. I can see no dipping or bowing in the beam or roof.
