1993 Build (Cavity wall regs??)

Hello All,

My colleague is trying to work out if his house built in 1993 would have had cavity wall insulation fitted as part of building regulations?

Does anyone know which year the requirement came into force

we have fitted cavity wall insulation batts since i started in the trade back in 1981.

first 2", later on 3" and more recently 4".

If the internal wall is 4" concrete, or thermal, then yes. If it is 6" thermal then in 1993 no, although for a few years its been 25mm with 6" thermal as well
