Can a 2 pipe central heating system be split into 2 loops the reason Im asking is at the moment it starts at 22mm then down to 15mm were it has 1 radiator come off then does the rest of the radiators. What i would like to know is if you can add more radiators to the first radiator.

First of all, yes you can split it into as many loop or zones as you like

To add more radiators the boiler needs to be capable e.g. KW/ BTU

If you mean can you tee into 15mm and add another rad, its not ideal, a lot of the time it works, but there is a calculation to work it out before hand

To be sure where ever poss take the run back to the main flow and return usually 22mm/28mm/32mm in domestic house's

Thanks for your replys would it be possible to put a tee to make 2 loops/zones from were the 22mm pipes ends so I could have one doing the front and one doing the rear of the house at the moment it runs all round the house and the pipes are all surface mounted doing it like this would hide most of the pipes cheers for any help

You have to be aware that 15mm can only carry a limited amount of heat. Only the smallest systems will have 15mm main flow and return distribution pipes, teeing off each one to each rad. 15mm main F and R pipes can only carry 15,000BTU, and a metre long double rad can be 5000BTU, so you can soon run out of capacity.

Best to carry on in 22mm pipe from the end of existing 22mm, to service each zone, then tee off the 22mm in 15mm to each rad. Unless your loops/zones are under the magic 15,000BTU limit for each zone.
