2 port valve remaining open

The white is not usually connected, it is generally only used on C-plan systems. The brown wire takes the supply from 'stat to open the valve.

are you sure it's not a 3 port, if there is no brown, got a pic? unless it is an obscure model of valve that I have not seen.
Is it possible someone has swapped the heads, (put a 3 port head on your 2 port body)?

Start again sir. You appear to have your wires crossed.

Something is clearly wrong here.

I'm going to have a guess. You bought this valve on the internet?

It could be a motor open-motor close valve, or it could have more than one end switch - or you could read the instructions.

thanks for the reply.....there is not a brown

I'm going to have a guess. You bought this valve on the internet?

Yes bought as a whole unit,,,,,,,fitted as 2 port body but as previous poster suggested it may have been reconfigured from 2 valve body and 3 port ,,this head has 6 wires=brown, blue, yellow, orange ,grey,white.....grey powered will
simulate the valve to open as it is wired with a permanent live...................i feel such a fool that i didn`t sus this,,,,,,,the more i thought the further away i was ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,every days a school day
