Hi. We have an old system gas boiler that is working well and regularly serviced. We have had a Hive system installed last winter. We have 14 radiators attached not all on at the same time. We noticed the bathroom ensuite radiator would be slightly on when the heating was on water only. The plumber replaced the 3 way valve, the actuator and the hot tank thermostat the CH worked for a few days and then the hot water would work but not the CH. The only time the CH would work was when the hot water was on. The electrician came out and replaced the actuator. That has lasted a few days. Now if we want the CH On we have to have the water on. When the water heats the tank to the target temperature the CH and the hot water switches off. Please can you shed any light onto why this keeps happening?

could be hot water off wire has become loose in wiring center.
valve is stiff and motor can't swing it round fully to central heating to activate microswitch

The electrician checked the wiring over and over

You shouldn't have to be calling in electricians to look at simple plumbing wiring stuff.
Go get a plumber who has a clue what they are doing (Good luck with that).

Maybe the actuated valve for the CH isn't calling for heat.
Either the idiot plumber has wired the new one in wrong, or disturbed something.

Quite how a electrician cant figure it out i dunno.
It's simple fault tracing.

Go take a few pics of everything these two clowns have touched and come back here.

We have a simple boiler he has tested it

It seems obvious, that your boiler is absolutely fine, your problem is that neither your plumber, nor your electrician have much of a clue between them.

You need someone who has a bit of a clue about heating system controls, they are really not difficult to understand. Chucking parts at a problem, then finding the problem still remains, is a good example of this.

Your symptoms suggest one or two likely possibilities...

Either the 3-port valve actuator, is unable to move the water valve below it, to the CH position. Or the signal from the 3-port actuator, is not getting from it, to the boiler.

The electrician and the plumber are experienced they are just at a loss what's up with it. When the electrician came out and replaced the actuator and hot tank thermostat the heating was perfect for a few days. That's what is so puzzling

Agreed, only going to be a wiring or mechanical fault. Picture tells a 1000 words

22/28mm Mid-Position Valve Áctuator A3MID-G Corgi 230/240V AC 50Hz Motor 5 WATT. This is what the electrician put in last week and as I said it's been fine for a few days

I am wondering if my CH system needs flushing and dirt is causing this
