When my heating was on and the hot water was off the hot water tank was still heating up (after 3 days). Thought the valve must be bypassing or something SO:-
Along came British Gas and said the valve must be dried up so he changed it with a "service kit", that`s just the valve bit, a spindle with some "cam" bits on the end to open or close the ports. Didn`t change anything else.
Now it all works properly BUT there is a loud vibration/buzz through the whole system pipework. What`s going on ? Do we leave it for a while to see if it settles or do we get on the phone to British Gas now.
Thanks for any responses.

Did he drain or bung to take out valve? I'd suspect air over the pump and calm down.

Is the buzzing noise there all the time?
Could be the synchron motor holding the valve in position.
Try turning the system off and on again to see if the noise disappears.

He bunged the header tank and he said something about draining down some of the connecting pipes, that could have been the ones to the pump?
So what do we do ? Do we let the whole system cool or do we keep running it and see if it improves ? Does it sort itself out over time ? Is there anything else we can do to help the process along ?
