We have a utility area. Concrete slab poured in 4 sections. Two small rooms (larder and WC) with boundary at threshold onto the hallway section which itself is 2 strips about 2 m X 0.6 m.
Given shonky build of the whole thing I strongly suspect there's no dpc nor bar in the slabs.
Was about to s l compound over the lot ahead of slate tiles. Then realised that while the slabs haven't risen up markedly the boundaries have chipped/crumbled slight along the unions. Indicates some movement over the years.
Subsequent to slate tiles, any movement will telegraph in tiles. Don't really want to raise height with a board of some kind and would likely struggle to stick one down as across span of overall floor there's likely enough change in level to snap a board?
Has anyone gotten away with this type of thing, in spite of that voice saying "what if" ?
Alt' is to s l compound and lay vinyl...
