So true. Anything which is in a fixed position and needs an internet connection, be it games console, desktop PC, HTPC, or whatever should be hard-wired. I'm a bit of an ethernet fascist and will stop and nothing to install ethernet faceplates in every room 
The trend these days is towards wireless everything, but people don't quite understand that there is only so much data you can have flying around in the air in your house, not to mention your neighbours leaking their dirty signal through your walls.
Wireless internet for anything other than a laptop, tablet or phone should be an absolute last resort IMO.
