I was under the impression that for a 100mm cavity wall (ground floor extension) which has solid concrete floors, that you needed to leave some 50mm free. Builder has put in 50mm thick kingspan rigid board insulation in there.

Just went to see a friend's place who is also doing a single storey extension however they have put 100mm kingspan and filled the cavity.

Could I have also done this? I thought there needed to be a gap in the cavity?

Standard board should not be used to full-fill the cavity, though there is a new product which
is claimed can be used as full-fill.

Hi
Why should the cavity never be filled completely if there are no vents given that it's a solid concrete floor? There's nothing to dry any moisture build up.

Is 50mm sufficient do you think?

lol the penny has finally dropped. I didn't see the misspelling.

The wonder of Apple / Siri dictation and not checking :)

Now back to the question perhaps?
