I need to replace a vortice 6"/15cm extraction fan in my kitchen.

I would like to get an extraction fan the same size which has shutters that can be opened/closed manually.

I can only find extractor fans with "auto" shutters - I presume that means they remain closed when fan is off but open when fan is activated.

I like the natural ventilation that occurs with shutters open but the fan not spinning.

Anyone ?

You could install a Pull cord fan.
Just leave it off at the switch when not in use and use the pull cord to operate the shutters when suits.

Sounds great.

Can u supply a link?

I thought the "pull cord fans" where to operate the power.

Some fans just have flaps which are opened by the air flow.

Others are electrically operated. Perhaps these could be rewired to operate as you want.
