The 4 inch inline fan I had fittee last year doesn't do anything. The reason being a really long bendy duct in ceiling. So my new electrician suggested a 6 inch ceiling fan.
He says he can only get it in white but I want chrome. Can you guys suggest a good make with timer and is 6 inch fan going to be too much.

I am thinking big because the existing fan has been extracting nothing except electricity.

Thanks

Yes it is a bathroom

square roughly 2m x 2m x 2.2m

One window and one door

hi check these out , all depends what you are willing to spend , personally if it is a white ceiling i would be going for white not chrome
Centrifugal Fans are better on long runs than inline
here are a few that will more than extract from your room size

you can get these at bes.co.uk
19391 100 mm, centrifugal fan, humidistat and timer £ 22.95

19395 100 mm, in-line axial fan, timer and light kit £34.29

19389 100 mm, low voltage fan with timer and transformer £20.46

these all have timers
the centrifugal has a non return built in

you can also look at the website and you will see adaptors to allow any fan to have non returns ;)

everything else is chrome, but I dont mind white too much and yes ceiling is white. I am not getting another inline as it has been rubbish and cost me a lot last year.

4 inch or 6 inch...which one of the above is more powerful and removing condensation.

thanks again

hi any of the ones i listed will work for you no problem
it is not about 4 or 6 " sizing
it is about the extract rate of the fan
your room is less than 10cubic mts

look up the numbers i gave you , you will be able to make an informed decision then
all i can tell you is i use these myself , i know they work in theory and practical sense
the rest is personal choice for you ;)

thanks Pal, the extract rate of inline I currently have was quite high too and I only just realised that there is enormous amount of ducting, the fan is actually a meter or so away from the ceiling vent and duct even has a bend.

I will get one of the 4 inches ones as it will be less work to replace it and see how it goes.

thanks again
