    Just a quickie

I recently bought a 1960s ground floor purpose built flat that needs a rewire.

The floors and ceilings are concrete and all internal walls are solid breeze block construction.

All sockets, switch boxes etc are metal, with the wires to them in metal conduit pipe set into floors, walls and ceilings.

Will an electrician have to chase walls etc to get to the conduits, or can he pull new wires through the conduit pipes to sockets etc?

    Many thanks

Though may be difficult if inspection lids have been covered.

going to be a difficult pull for the cooker circuit too.

if you cant pull through then chase out using safe zones,if you can pull through, bear in mind you may want extra sockets in different positions which will require chasing anyway.

plan it out properly before its started to save to much chasing on 1 wall, negating the risk of putting a circuit or two outside safe zones

And try to plan back to back sockets for limiting the chases require.

I rewired several flats of this construction using coving trunking and dropping down to accessories, I bet its a fair old price now though, I just priced some bench trunking which is a similar profile, £100 per length
