When connecting lights that aren't a ceiling rose, what is the best way to connect them up to maintain accessability? Obviously JBs behind the ceiling is not accessable, so is best way to have loop-in live in connector block with sw live n neutral in fitting?

If there is a loft above the ceiling ten you could fit a junction in there. If not just take all three cables into the fitting and terminate the loop in a piece of strip connector, and the sw live, neutral and earth straight into the fitting.

I am assuming you are replacing existing loop in fittings with 'fancy' fittings.

If you are wiring from scratch you would be better off using double covered singles and wiring the loop to the switches.

So is it best not to clip the cables to joists etc incase cables needs to be withdrawn from below the ceiling, when installing lighting?
