Render at the bottom is uneven as all heck: with a drip edging on the left side that directs water into the aco, but not on the right. What’s the easiest way to add a drip bead to existing render?

You fit a bellcast bead before rendering, then render.

So logic suggests, you need to go up a few inches, cut and remove the render, nail a bellcast bead to the wall, and render from that up to the old render. But now, you will have that join between the new render strip and old render, which forever and a day will always have a hairline crack.

Thank you so much! Could fill that crack with flexible filler so it isn’t letting water through. But alternatively, do you reckon it would be better to not add a drip edge but use some storm dry or other masonry cream on the bricks below to keep water out?
